When someone asks me what is the #1 advice I could give to a first time buyer I always tell them to please take a First Time Buyer Class. Choose a class that is taught by real industry professionals who are actively working in the field. Having a class taught by someone who sold houses back in 70s is of little use to you today. And please make sure the class is accredited, which will give you access to available lotteries, down payment assistance, or special financing.
